Hello, I have been trying for the last 4 hours too put my stock exhaust back on. I ordered the parts except the exhaust (bolts, nuts stuff like that) from harley. I just cannot seem to get it too work. I even have helpp and just cant get it on, and I hate too put an aftermarket one on cause I hate the look of all of them, and love the stocker. So if anyone has any experience with this please help.

- Do I put the lead rings that go in between the pipes and exhaust on the header pipes first? or in the exhaust?

- Ive heard loosening the right rear set helps alot not sure if that's necessary to do?

Ive just about given up on this thing, so anyone with help I would greatly appreciate it.

- Also had an HR-1 Riot exhaust on it before, is it possible the headers dont fit? im not sure about these things too much

burning try spreading the exhaust flanges outward (on the muffler) abit then put the exhaust gaskets inside the flanges on the muffler. The muffler clamps should be as loose as you can make them.slide the two header pipes into the exhaust gaskets that are seated in the muffler.Yes loosen the right side foot peg. when installing this muffler you have to try and keep it level as you push upwards .I found that new exhaust gaskets work better ,because old used ones tend to snag on the lip of the header pipe making it almost impossible to install when pushing upwards. I just did this install again because I tried the hawk and hated it and re installed the stock again!mesage me if you need some help and I will call you

Thanks Guys, I gave up on it for the moment, but i might take another crack at it when I get home at 3pm. its only like 28 degrees here today so finding a warm enough day to do it is getting tough without a heated garage lol.

Thanks everyone and especially boreas for your advice, opening the flanges was just the trick i needed, and with a few swear words and some dumb luck I got it on, and I must say it looks so much nicer then that aftermarket one I had on before! cant wait till May to take it out on the streets Thanks again!
