so heres the backstory - I bought my buell about a year ago have not had any problems with it - just moved into a new apartment complex 3 days ago and on the first night someone backed over my bike while i was sleeping - they were kind enough to leave their insurance info but... my bike has impact marks/damage (minor to severe) to several parts on the right side.

I dropped my bike off where the lady's insurance company told me to in order to have the damage assessed. now they are asking me what the grips are because they are not the OEM grips that come with the 09 xb12r

I would just switch to the others but I quite like these. they say Buell American Motorcycles on the end which leads me to think they are stock for one of the bikes- PLEASE HELP
heres the picture.

Buell traction grips. they're not made anymore and are hard to find, and if you do find some, they want alot for them. original price was about $16.00. (they did not come stock)

learn something every day. those are the same ones i have... wont be throwing those away if i get new ones.

Exactly as Joel said. Good luck trying to find some. I know where a set or two is but they will never sell them. Also, good luck getting your Buell fixed.

Those were the Buell Traction grips. The part # is 55959-02Y. If you can't find a new set I've got a used throttle side laying in my tool box.

Pos90 it is looking like I might be in the market to buy that part - what condition is it in and how much were you looking for?

I wish i kept mine when i switched to the D3's. I would love to have those grips on every bike I own. I have a rather large hand and no other grip has felt more comfortable. it was a perfect fit and held my hand in perfect throttle possition. now the D3's are great and I don't have any complaints other than that they aren't the tractions. . .

They are just ergonomic ally friendly to the hand/grip. Your palm has a natural concave and these seem to fill that vs a traditional grip that is simply straight.

Mine are starting to show a little wear but still comfortable. I bought some RideItMoto grips for when the Tractions have to go.

Another good alt to the traction girps are the gel grips from ASB (made by progrip) they are rounded like the traction grips and alot more "squshy" so they are really comfy.

For the record pos90 is epic-awesome I got my part today - it is in damn near perfect condition and it took only 3 days from payment to receive... Thanks a ton
