I took my 08 Buell XB12R in for some rough idling and now they are saying there was no oil in the primary even though i filled it up. they are basically calling me a liar and saying it isnt covered by buell how can i get this covered under manufacture warranty? i have no money to pay for any repair let alone this giant bull crap repair please give me some advice!

I don't know how to get it covered but I would get some oil from an autoparts place, roll the bike out of their shop and put it in, in there parking lot.

How many miles on the bike? No oil in the primary should have nothing to do with a rough idle.

If you know a lawyer I would have the lawyer write them a letter explaining that if they can't provide documentation that oil was ever put in the bike before they sold it to you. They should have an invoice for everything done to the bike once it arrived from the factory. I believe they have to ship the bikes dry and the dealership is responsible for installing the oils and prepping the bike.

I woudn't think they would lie. Its my understanding that any repairs under warranty is charged to the Harley franchise. So they still make money off of it. I would say its a discounted rate though.

In any case they most likely have your vin in there computer network so it wont matter if you take it to another dealer. That sucks man. Hope things go your way.

i did an oil change on it and they are blaming me for it

Do you have documentation? Receipt, mileage, etc?

The only thing left to is to burn the dealership down. You might want to wait a couple weeks since they your mad.

Best thing I can tell you is to get loud in there show room with the manager. That work for me with Nissan recently. They charged me 600 dollars to change a part to get my airbag light off. Change the part and a few days later the light started flashing. Got 400 of it back. If they think there going to loose a sale because you are scaring the customers they will calm you down by giving you what you want or at least close to it.[cool]

i have proof of when i bought the oil and filter.
i did the oil change in July and they are saying it's run all this time with no primary oil.

did you empty the primary and fill up the swing arm?

stranger things have happened.....but it doesnt have anything to do with the idle.
