Ok so I have an 03 Bolt. Since I've had it the low beam only works when it wants to. I have dealt with it by running my high beam all the time. The other day I guess i didn't have the high beam on and got pulled over ( cop was cool and just said fix it and thought originally that I had it rigid like that with a switch to RUN)
So today I decide to throw a different headlight assembly in that I had laying around. Got the fairing pulled off and assembly unmounted only to find a helluva lot more wire than the new assembly I have. I do some further investigating and the new one is October 05 and the old one is January 02. I pluged the one plug in to my bike from the new assembly and it works perfect high beam and low. So my question is why does it work minus all the extra wires and can I use it? If I can use it what the hell do I do with the extra wires?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Here is the new assembly

And the back of another spare/broke 03 assembly
