Help on decided if this is a good deal

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I know a member on this forum that has an Buell XB Lightning with nearly 40,000 miles. I'd rather buy a bike that has been ridden , rather than one that sits all of the time. Seals and gaskets can rot among other problems with bikes that sit in the garage for months on end if not years. Just test ride it, let it idle for awhile. Listen closely and see if there are any un-explainable sounds. Ask him what octane level of gas he runs (premium is best), synthetic oil should be used and probably is.

The ad does say, OBO so I would try to work the price down. Offer him $4500 and see what he says. It looks nice in the pictures.

If there's nothing wrong with it, it seems like a fair deal. Talk him down some, he's having a baby and is going to be needing the money, Can likely be had for under $5K. That race pipe alone is worth an extra $400+.

I just bought one recently and it is a 05 xb12r with 1600 miles for 5600 with race ecm, buell race muffler, and filter also it is in oerfect condition old rich man he didnt even know what to do with it.so...I think you could get it cheaper or find a better deal.

just bought an 06 xb12r about three weeks ago for 6grand out the door. 1143 miles on it. you could find a better deal. looks like a very nice bike though....talk him down....

Man those are all good deals i paid 6grand for an 05 wit 5000 miles drummer exhaust, catch can and TFI.

I got ripped off....6500 out the door for an '04 Firebolt 12.:D When it comes right down to it, if the bike is in good condition and all, then it seems to be a good deal. Its always nice to save a little dough, but no matter how you look at it, in most cases you'll never see that money again If you keep it for a few years..that goes with almost any bike...I think. Im a spontaneous buyer though. If I want it I buy it, then cry later.[sad]
