HELP Running Fan Post EBR ecm installation

I have a 2008 XB12R Firebolt. I have a Jardine RT-1 exhaust, K&N Filter and EBR ecm installed. Since the installation of the ecm my cooling fan now does the exact opposite. It turns on when I exceed 20 mph and stays on, and when i drop below 20 mph it shuts off and it doesn't come on anymore when i turn the engine off. I also run synthentic oil in it. Any suggestions???

That's what it's supposed to do. It'll still come on at low or no speed if your temp gets high enough.

But I just ran this bike at night when is was very cool out, i mean the second i exceeded 20 mph it clicked on and it never did that in stock trim, and now when i shut the bike off it'll be just sweltering and then fan doesn't come on at all

My 2010 is exactly like that. I'd say thats how its supposed to be. I could see how that would definitely make you nervous though!

Yep, the thought process is that it'll stay cooler while running so that the fan won't need to run when you are going slow or stopped. It is still supposed to trigger on when the temp gets above a certain point, but I've never let mine sit until that point. I'm sure I'll find out this summer when it gets to 115 out...

Yeah I emailed EBR and they confirmed the fan program is the same as the 2010 bikes. KillerB are you getting any kind of lag when you accelerate from a stop?

If you have lag there is a app for that... lol its called tunerpro and the xdf file used with ecmread.

One of two simple changes fixes the lag depending on which lag it is.

Just spoke to Mike @ EBR he said that all the 2008's run the way I described how my fan used to work. When I loaded the new ecm in it configured the fan differently and now would run the fan like 2010's. Said it's more efficient for the cooling of the engine. Thanks for your posts

Very Interesting. No idea about that change. Xopti is the man I heard. Listen to him. I don't think Xopti inside is still available.. is it?
