Help with a batt draw

So Ive been trying to find the cause of a batt draw, and am having no luck.
What is happening is with the test light on between the neg cable and the batt, Im getting about a 2volt draw that is flashing.
its the same circuit that the speed sensor,, tps, etc is on. Ive swapped out the ecm with a know good one, and no luck. My ECM
spyware wont connect, and at my wits end. This has been a problem for months, am missing out on a riding season.

correct method for checking amount of parasitic draw and finding its origin:
1-remove negative battery cable end from battery terminal
2-get a quality multi-meter and set it to DC AMPS......NOT VOLTS.......AMPS.
3-place in-line between cable end and terminal. EVERYTHING on bike must be turned off.
4-now check your reading. higher than approx. 150milliamps? start removing each fuse one by one while continuing to check the meter. that will reveal the circuit causing the problem.

The draw stops once I pull the ECM fuse.

Then continue by tracing the wires an unplugging/plugging everything in that circuit individually (including the ECM).

The correct wiring diagram is a huge help to make sure you get all the pieces in order.

Is it your ignition switch? The ECM gets power from the switch methinks...

I mean since you tried a known good ECM it (ECM) shouldn't cause the draw, it has to get power somewhere. So its probably drawing a correct amount of current, just when it shouldn't be...just throwing it out there.

What did you find? You can just start where you gave up.

It is a sucky job, but a simple one. There isn't much wiring to go through. I'm curious about the "flashing" and how you know you have a 2 volt draw with a test light? Every little clue will help us, help you:eagerness:

Hi all,

I have the same problem , let's say I left the bike 2 weeks inn the garage and the battery was dead.... battery is original and 1 year hold.... seams something is sucking the battery while bike off.

I read some tread here and did some test:

un piccolo aggiornamento, oggi mi son fatto tutti i test e:

Battery status ok and charged
Wires ok and negative properly grounded

Connector #77: checked and ok

Milliampere Draw Test: as per manual with ammeter placed between battery neg and neg cable, read 0

Stator test: connector #46 perfect, ground test ok, check with ohmmeter ok for grounded stator ok no value, check of 3 pins, 1-2 1-3 2-3 value read 0,19

Test AC output: ok at 2000 rpm 35 volts, at 1000 rpm 17 volt

Started the bike and checked the volt at the battery at 2500 rpm is 14,4 volt

Checked with Ecmspy and no error

Just one strange thing, while using Ecmspy I tried to switch off the light pulling the fuse .... surprise with the fuse off the light are still on ??? tried with others and same problem lights on.... how is that possible?

Any idea?

The biek run nice no problem at all but I would like to understand what is discharging the battery....
