Help with fork height measurement please?

Can someone tell me the stock measurement that the fork is above the top triple clamp? Triple clamp to top of fork cap, or how many lines. '07 XB12S.

If what I'm thinking of is what you're talking about, depending on your weight and riding style will determine the number of lines showing

Your manual tells you how many lines to set it at.

the fork has a wire clip that sets it to a set height. you can adjust the preload which the factor is 4 lines. hope this helps

Thanks for the replies, what I was actually looking for is the distance the fork tube itself slides above the triple clamp. I went to adjust it and saw, as firechickenXB9R pointed out, there is a stop ring for the stock setting. Thanks again, just having a little bit of trouble with my Lightning not wanting to hold a line when on the chickenstrips. Already resulted in one 80 mph lowside on a tight decreasing radius corner with a few stutter bumps in the middle, and I really don't want to do that again. I had a bit too much preload and too litle damping, both the comp and rebound and that helped, now I lowered the fork tube one line so we'll see if that helps too.

Try checking your bottom haed stem bearring.
