I'm waiting on a company that has one to ship it otherwise I'm going to throw her back together again and see if the new insulation I put over it will keep it from touching anything, I was getting the code because I essentially grounded it to the rockerbox
 
Ok so update on what I've been experiencing. I put the rocker cover back on and it had a fairly significant leak off of the bottom cover. So I got some high temp sealant and went over the existing seals as a temporary fix and the leak is gone now. Once rode it to work the cel flickered on and it just wasn't running right. Well I had Just done a breather reroute and didn't realize how bad it was actually running til I filled up and got about 80 miles before my light came on. I undid the breatyer and she runs great. And to fix the cel which was the engine temp sensor again I ran the wire through a piece of the 3/8ths tubing that I took off
 
If the ETS is not working correctly your bike will run like crap. So I imagine that your ETS was still shorting like before and the tube you used insulated it. Least, that's what I'm getting from what you've written so far.
 
yep, and I should have another one coming so I don't have to worry about it anymore. on the other hand I seem to have an electrical problem that causes my whole bike to turn off. I'm guessing a wire got pinched or has a break in it somehow, but if I'm moving the vibration seems to kick it back on. if I'm not moving I can turn the handlebars and eventually the pump will prime and the guages will sweep.

honestly I thought I had it all figured out, she ran great up til I got on the interstate then it started cutting out

Before you freak out, I would say fix the one known problem first. When you have the new ETS in you can then begin to see what/if there are other problems. ETS will cause a crap ton of other things to go nuts. I've made the mistake before where I starting troubleshooting 5 other things when in fact they were being caused by just one.
 
yea, I'm just waiting for spike to get back to me about his ETS. he sent me the price for it and I asked what he wanted for shipping and where he wanted the money and I've gotten no response
 
these don't feel fast when you're doing it

I think they feel faster than a traditional sportbike. At 120 on my xbs all of the direct wind that practically rips you off the bike makes it feel like you are going way faster.
 
I could see that, sitting upright on an s would probably feel like a direct blast, but the redirection on the r it just glides compared to everything else I've ridden. and up until about 90 my wing helps direct the wind further up so I can mess with my position a bit, after 90 the wind pushes the wing flat and I just duck back under. I personally love the riding position on my r and I'm completely willing to drive for hours and hours provided that it is working correctly.
 
ok so another update as to what I've come across recently, so I have my engine down awaiting my new gaskets that I got today and I'm still waiting for a new ets so I took out the old one and unwrapped the wire..

which actually explains a lot so I soldered it up and heat shrunk it and I'm going to put a layer of gasket maker over it to help protect it. and it'll serve for what I want until my new one gets here.

ok, so my clutch issue is fixed and it hasn't acted up in about 300 miles. so I thought I'd give an updated picture.
