Hey everyone, Im wanting to put HID's in my Firebolt..Anyone had any problems doing this? Also, there are colored HID's ya? This something I could easily install or is there much to it? Thanks for looking!

HID kits are pretty much plug and play, then hide the ballast. But our buells have a HID killing feature, the headlights turn off momentarily during startup. To get the longest life out of your investment, it's best to put a timer on the lights, causing it to wait a determined number of seconds before igniting the lights.

As far as color, maximum brightness is a little less than 5k. I would not recommend anything over 8k. It starts looking too blue and is distracting to other drivers and could get you ran over by a drunk driver.

Sorry for Noob questions.. buuttt.. Does it matter on the Bulb type?[sad] just dont want to get the wrong thing and waste the money!

Yes it matters. H3 for Firebolts, H7 for Lightnings. I dont really know how the 55w systems work in our bikes.

If you have the "both headlights on high beam" mod, your low beam doesn't go out when starting, at least not on my SS. So I won't have to worry about starting the bike and if I chose to run a high beam HID as well, just turn it on after the bike is running, which I do now with stock bulbs... However if I had the issue of the light shutting off on start up, I would just splice into the power wire to the headlights and install an on off switch rather than messing with a timer...

Anyways, I bought a set of H7 5000k HID's from DDM and their H7 halogen hyper white driving lights. My plan is to use a low beam HID and hyper white high beam leaving me with an extra set to sell to a fellow bueller... They should show up tomorrow and I may have time to throw them on tomorrow night, but regardless should have them posted up here for sale by the end of the week.
