Just thought I would throw this up here. I have been wanting to get a new muffler for a while now. My dad took one look at it and said he could fabricate something for me. He is a master welder and can make or fix anything. (Does welding on the side)
Started with a stock muffler off my 07 XB9SX. Didnt want something too loud but with a little thump to it and wanted dual tips![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Marked it for where we wanted to cut it down. Cut the back open to see what all is inside.
Then we went to the auto parts store and got 2 exhaust tips. They were $7 each. Cut 2 holes and started lining up and getting the angle of the tips correct.
My dad got everything all welded up and then hung it up to prep and prime it.
Primer dry and now time for high temp black paint.
Got back down to my shop after the paint was dry and started to install it back on my bike. Everything went back on pretty easy with no problems.
Great fit and looks better than new!
Finally here is a short vid of it idling. I think it sounds pretty good, of course it sounds better in person than on the video.

Here is another vid of it revved up a bit. (My dad thought my bike was gonna fall over

I did ride it down the street for a bit, sounds great while riding it, not too loud, and not too quiet. Def sounds pretty tough!
So for hardly any money and not too much fab work we came up with a great sounding muffler. I know I will most likely need a tune now since I also put in a K&N filter just a few weeks ago.
If anyone has any questions let me know. Thanks for looking.
