Hey guys. New to the board and buell. I have been around a couple of my buddies so I now about the amount of a gain of sand, but I know I love the bikes.

So my question is. I went for a couple rides around the block and loved the feel of the bike. But I was checking and learning the signals lights and all the gauges and such.

Well I went to honk the horn and it was very low and in and out with the rumble of the bike. I did my loop and cam back now I have no horn. I have read that the horn ground loves to come off the bolt. Do you think this is my issue. Should I just buy a new louder horn?

I tried to check the ground and after looking for it I think I found it on the back side of the gauges. I tried to see the terminals and I can't see due to the other electrical. Should I pull the front fareing off and look?

Finally during slow down for turns the bike kinda got wobble. I have my father in law ride it as well do to the massive 135 lbs I weigh maybe it was me. But he too felt it. What should I do. Thanks for the help guys and I can't wait to learn more about this bike.

internet trouble-shooting is a crap-shoot at best. be advised as a new member that when posting "seeking help" questions please provide year/model/mileage/modifications/service history. that info helps immensely.

your horn: if it is stock it is a 2-blade affair. it is not "bolt grounded" as you mentioned. it is wire harness grounded. 2003-2004 XB's had issues with wiring loom rubbing thru on mounting bracket bolt so check that area and repair if required. in all likelihood your horn is defective. replace it with any similarly sized 2-terminal 12 volt horn from any vehicle.

wobble on decel? incorrect front tire pressure....loose steering head bearings....poor choice of tire......defective wheel bearings. check all.

Lunatic. Thank you. My bolt is a 2006 12r with 21,000 something mileage. I has a hawk exhaust. I don't know if it's tuned and as fare as I can tell it was maintained well. The fork seals were replaced about two weeks before I bought it so about a mount ago.

So with my bolt being a 06 it doesn't sound like the ground then. I guess I'll begin looking for a horn. I am just worried because it need to get it inspected but I have heard that they don't check the horn and they do. Not being from upstate ny I don't know. But I know I need to fix it regardless. Any other input would be great I am willing to learn. And thank man.

yes sir my pleasure. to confirm get test light...remove wiring plug from horn....ground test light...turn key on...confirm gauges sweep....hold down horn button....probe plug with test light end. test light illuminates? press button on and off several times....test light illuminates? replace the horn.

wobble on decel? see what i listed above for you. millions of bikes will do this on decel if light to no pressure exerted on bars/clip-ons during decel. tons of variables involved with one being "nature of the beast". if your wobble is pronounced and serious enough to cause consternation i would NOT continue to ride it till a pro has a look and determines the culprit.

Will do. I have short day at work and might get a light today and mess around with it while i change the fluids. Thanks for the help again. The wobble isn't to bad just enough to give you a wtf look if you are not expecting it. Ill mess with my riding style as well. Im also in the process of reading A Twist of the Wrist to get the style and pointers and such. Thanks again and Happy riding my friend.
