I got my Xb12R back in October, I have yet to have actually have seen the bike due to a 365 tour however I will be going home in 5Xish days... The seller informed me that the ECM is aftermarket, among other things D&D exhaust, levers, K&N filter, just little thing... Im not sure if its a EBR of what the case might be. When I get home is there a way to tell? Also I would like to be able to just tune the bike on my own due to sometimes I will be racing on a track and others I will just be riding to work. Id like to be able to tune on track days given weather conditions and such. So if it is a aftermarket ECM will a EcmSpy cable still work or should I get a factory ECM, And if that is the case are the vin specific or can I get any 07 XB12R ECM.

Thank you

Race ecm will say this on it

That is most likely what it has, and yes ecmspy should still work on it

So from what Ive researched the ecm spy cable is inexpensive. Where do I get the software?

not all ecm's will have that on it, on my '03 I researched the part number and found it was a race ecm

Can I program the ECM with the spy cable on a MAC or is it only for PC system?
Also where can I find the program?

For track days... Id like to increase the rev, advance spark, curve, fuel system for more power less mpg and for daily operation less power more mpg... Correct me if my thinking is wrong please. Thank you

Yes you can adjust eeeeverything. I suggest not to unless you have proper knowledge on such. Ddfi 1& 2 ecms will work and are editable on ecmspy. Ddfi3 ( 08+) bikes will read on ecmspy but are not editable unless you so some tinkering. They ARE editable on ecmspy mono and Tunerpro RT. Tunerpro is a much more capable system and gives you many more options. With a bluetooth module you can use ecmdroid on your android device. But it has limited capabilities.

Lots of threads on this. Good luck and don't blow anything up lol.

I would not recommend increasing rev limiter due to pistons speeds pretty high to begin with. The spark advance runs pretty advance stock so not sure you will get much improvement. Especially without a load dyno to hold rpm and tps for each cell. There is great improvement potential in the fueling maps and is where I recommend you focus on. You can buy Ecmspy and tune it with that or Tunerpro or Excel spreadsheet and hexdata. Spend the next few days reading on here.
