Blind bearing puller from harbor freight and plenty of wd-40, I removed the wheel and swingarm bearings yesterday, just needs a Lil bit of love...

Say I'd I don't want to buy the tool and get it out tonight since I already am in te garage...

Well I'm going to have to goto autozone or whatever store rents out tools and see if they have a wheel bearing puller, I couldn't get anything loose tonight, not sure what the deal is, the front wheel was simple...

Oh and I had to order a new spacer tonight as well... :(

I had the same issue with the rear wheel. I rented the bearing puller from autozone like you are thinking but at first it still didn't work. I used a small propane torch to heat the wheel around the bearing and it popped right out. I heated the wheel when I put the new bearings in too, it made it so much easier. Just don't leave the heat on one spot too long or you might burn the wheel coating.

I just called auto zone and asked if they had one. The lady said he has a hub bearig puller. Will that be the tool I need?

I used a slide hammer with the pilot bearing puller attachment, they come separately. Ask for part numbers 27033 and 27059, you can see them on the autozone website. Just make sure you check the puller attachment before you leave the store. I had to go to another autozone because the two that they had were broken.

I tried using the Blind Hole puller like CoastieRider posted above at first, but the one that autozone had didn't work with the bearing. One attachment was slightly too big, and another was slightly too small. I took it back and ended up using the pilot bearing puller. But I did have to heat around the bearing, mine were heavily corroded.

I have been using the exact tools on my 2010 xb and cannot get bearing to move and i am getting a little upset with that tool!!!!! I realy dont want to put any heat on my hub.

I would hit the B-plan, BFH nd cold chisel, just take your time, all you want is for it to move once.

OHHH, It's an '10, it's got 2 pulley side bearings, you have to take each one out individually, and one on the brake side

Yep!I have done this repair on other bikes before and never had them beat me. If i use the cold chisel what do you do with the spacer? It moves to the side a little but i dont think enough to expose iner bearing race.

may have to grind a little notch, to get a sharp edge, to slip under the spacer, I cut a couple of notches in my spacer when I first did mine

Hey, Thanks for all the info but i got a brainstorm.I took the wheel to the Harley dealer down the road and the service writer said it would take 15 min. and would do it immediately they had a hard time with it. It took about 35min. they charged me $25.00 Great bunch of guys there. I would have felt better doing it myself but at least i can put it back together.

well i got it out finally.... :/

i went to autozone and got the slide hammer and pilot bearing puller like texb12 suggested. The teeth part of that attatchment were pretty big to grab between the bearing and spacer however, but since my spacer was already messed up anyway and i have a new one on the way from ASB i made the atatchment work....

monday i'll have to run to store to get some antizieze for the axels since i dont have any and then the bike should go together without many more problems. i just have to put the new bearings in the rear rim, put my new rim stripes on the rims, put my new blinkers and grips on, and then put the new plastics on. hopefully by this next weekend it'll all be done!

how did you cut a couple of notches in it? i have a new spacer on the way in the mail, just curious what exactly you did, b/c i'd like to make getting my spacers out easier next time.
