Let me check for pics, yep, I got a pic of my front spacer, same thing for rear, I took a side grinder and just cut a couple of notches strait across frome each other

If I want to buy a kit to do Buell wheel bearings, what's a good one to buy? I see lots of wheel bearing pullers on Amazon, and notice there are some specifically listed as "HD" units. Do I need one of those for my pre-2010 bike? Does the Harbor Freight blind bearing kit work just as well as anything (I have a local HF)?

The slide-hammer style that HF sells might work once or twice if they aren't stuck in there too bad. Still worth the cost if you're only doing that job once or twice.

You can DIY and cut a fresh end on a long punch to try and grab that tiny lip from the other side. Use 'up' pressure on the punch to help wedge it down into the separating line. The trick is to use a pointy punch from the tip side to hold it against the bearing. If you can get it to move even the tiniest bit, it will come out easy after that. Don't forget to tap it out evenly once it moves, or you will gall that wheel surface where the outer race sits:(

Otherwise I use the SKF kit. If you can find somewhere that copies the design... the trick is the wedge comes in from the rear side. The cheap ones that wedge in from the front so the grabby sharp bit just bends because it isn't supported directly. This is where a quality tool and materials are WELL worth the cost.

You do NOT need any sort of dedicated wheel bearing removal or installation tool to remove and install Buell XB wheel bearings.
