Hitching Post in Fridley, I don't have my license yet. So I wasn't expecting to be able to - but we didn't even get that far. My friend, who brought his bike in to ask about trading asked about testing the Buell Firebolt they had there. He has his license, and was a serious buyer, and they didn't even get that far. It was straight "no." Then i asked how a person is supposed to know they want to buy a bike if they cant even try it and he said "ride your buddy's bike." That is as far as the conversation went.

I wouldnt expect someone to let a person test one with just a permit, even though i have my own bike now and what not, but for someone who is planning to trade theirs in and buy a new one? come on...

i will be honest, at a dealership i have never been told "no". that one place i mentioned above was a start up shop and i dont think they made it very long.

Thats interesting. Its not the end of the world, i just thought it was very weird. Maybe it is because we are young and they didnt take us seriously. Who knows...

yes, it is weird. find another dealer. i will be honest, though, i dont buy from dealers anymore. find a bike through a private party and get a deal on it. i just bought mine a short time ago over in shoreview. cruise craiglist and be patient.

yeah, i dont know that I will ever buy from a dealer. They are a rip-off. Craigslist and other private partys are the way to go. I was more just hanging with my friend who has the money and too much pride to buy private party and i couldnt believe that they wouldnt let him take one out.

I prefer a better bike for less money - private party.
to each his own, though.
