im making my firebolt a lightning and need to change the clutch cable its pretty obvious at the lever .but were it goes into the primary any advice is always appreciated

you have to remove the primary inspection cover. disconnect the cable from the ramp and then unthread the cable. make sure to lay the cable out straight before you try to remove it from the case. its pretty simple. be very careful not to over torque the new cable, they are prone to breaking at the ferrule. take a glance at the manual, it should fill in any blanks you have.

Be sure to back out the clutch adjuster until it comes off or you will never get the it reattached. Its a very easy process once you have done it once.

Buellmods.com will have a service manual for you in the "downloads" section that'll tell you step-by-step with some pics. Also, I have an '03 parts manual (2nd pic) if you want to PM me your email address that shows exploded views. (Might not match your year model but would be close enough.)

Yeah, take it off the grip first, then take off the inspection cover with the 3 T27s. Once in there, remove #11 in the picture, then #12 should fall out. After that #10 comes off #8 by pulling in the cable itself. Make sure #10 doesn't fall into the primary. Then the cable unhooks from #10 and unscrews from the primary cover. Installation is the reverse of removal.
