I want a blank air box cover. How would you remove the big "BUELL" lettering? Heat gun? Or? Where I live I'm so tired of explaining what a Buell is. I just want to say it's a hot rod Harley because that's the only thing that gets through to all the Harley Cruiser guys. A sport bike of any kind is extremely rare.

"It's a Harley engine wrapped in a sportbike frame." That's my go-to explanation. Simple as. You don't need to go into depth about the history of Buell.

It boggles my mind that you're so bothered by people who are interested in the unique bike you're riding that you'd try and wipe away its identity.

You want a bike that won't draw attention? Get yourself a Honda.

For many years my daily driver was a Ford Cobra replica. 18 years and a 160k miles. All time conversation starter everywhere you go. I'm just done with that. I've become a curmudgeon in my old age. I would rather fly under the radar. Buell engineering and design is for me the epitome of what a bike should be. I just don't want to talk about it. I would rather have people wondering and guessing what the hell that bike was. I could only afford a Miata after the Cobra was totaled by a Chevy Tahoe. Didn't have the ability or shop to build another Cobra. So, yeah, I'm thin skinned when it comes to asinine comments about gayness. Barrett, I truly admire and appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share it. Just not so much your underlying attitude.

My apologies as I was simply needling you a bit. I'll delete the post. If you keep your Buell as long as you did your replica Cobra you'll be glad you left the emblems in place. And I know all about "conversation starters". I drive my orange one once or twice a year and my Dad's yellow one about the same.
