How hard is it to take of a firebolt fairing. Im going to try to fit my bike in my van and might need a couple more inches. So I may need to take off my fairing. Any other suggestions to make a firebolt shorter to transport it.:D

Or what about just taking off the clear wind screen instead of the whole fairing. Is the wind screen held on by screws or rivets? My bike is in storage so I cant look at it but im tring to plan a trip in advance.

you might be able to gain the clearence you need by just taking off the windscreen which is held on my 6 screws very easily taken off as far as taking off the whole fairing thats pretty easy as well take off the mirrors turns signals and the bottom two screws of the windscreen voila no more fairing

didnt someone say they were going to pick there bike up from the dealership in there van a few months back what ever happened did he get it there or ride it home

He rode it home

Just take off your mirrors and signals. The two furthest forward bolts on the windshield also hold it on, but thats it

Cool thanks guys. Once I get it back home I will play with it. I only need 2 or 3 inches to clear the door frame. I will let out some air and take off the wind screen and that should do it. If not I will take off the whole fairing.

...that's what she said?

no seriously (i promise i'm not in highschool). It's not terribly hard to take the front wheel off if push comes to shove.

Taking the windscreen off and letting air out of the tires will probably give you the clearance you need.

Keep in mind that that even with the fairing off there is a bar that goes up as high as where your mirrors mount

You sure know how to write 'em!:D

About 20 minutes the first time you remove it. Once it's off it will only take 5-10 to put it back on. REALLY SIMPLE.[up][up]
