How has this not been a thread yet?!

Interesting! I wonder what $20,000 gets a fella who buys one. My riding buddy bought a Ducati Diavel yesterday for $16k and it is a BAD MUTHEREFFER!

Let's hope this one really shows some performance advantages over the Ducatis of the world.

from a past interview he said 20k would get a bike with normal plastics instead of carbon fiber, but it would be the same motor base.

It was covered on some threads.

Sounds good but the teaser video was pulled within a day.

No idea what's up with that.

Eric really needs to get some cheaper bikes out so he can generate revenue for the R&D and race bikes.

OK good. He needs to start producing some mainstream bikes for us BUT did you hear the part of the news cast where she said its from in investors who get residency and citizenship from their investment. WTF? I wonder how much you need to invest to "buy" your way into the US? [confused]

WTF?  I wonder how much you need to invest to "buy" your way into the US?

I agree WTF! It's great that it will produce a lot of jobs and all but it's not right to let them buy their way in.

The EBR race team is doing rather well in the AMA Pro Superbike:

http://moto-racing.speedtv.com/ama-superbike/standings/

Geoff is in 5th and Danny, 8th, with both riders getting onto the Top-10 in the last race. That's a damn good showing!

That's how to get international and more corporate money into the business, the local economy, and the lucky ones who get to work for EBR :)

Let's hope Leguna-Seca gets them some more points and some podium time!!

if people wanna buy their way in with investment money that creates jobs, great. its better then the ones that run across the boarders.

I read somewhere about this, it said the plans where to have regular plastics like already mentioned as well as no magnesium wheels and the interactive display would be removed and replaced with a more regular speedo set up. The display alone they said was $6k!!

The only thing I'm wondering in how heavy it's going to be once the take all the light weight crap off and replace it with less expensive heavier materials.

I agree WTF! It's great that it will produce a lot of jobs and all but it's not right to let them buy their way in.
Much better than a lot of immigrants who come here and offer nothing but horrible driving skills as cabbies. Many become citizens too eventually but don't create jobs.

20m , is it enough to compete with ducati?
Absolutely, even the $24,000 1198 has not received the greatest reviews but by using less expensive components (aluminum wheels for instance) on the EBR 1190 will make for a better bike I would bet.

Better or different. I think it's great.

BTW, the "investment" is 500k--and that raises all sorts of other questions that probably shouldn't be discussed in our Buell forum... :D

This is kind old news. I've been posting about it for a while and watching the EBR site for updates. They've got placeholders for 3 more "affordable" bikes; the RX, SX, and AX. The current bike is 40 grand, but it's pretty much the race bike with lights. Still waiting...

Click on the motorcycles tab. They also sell some parts for XBs and the 1125 models.

EBR has been getting podium finishes. Check out the results page on the AMA site. Mostly third place finishes, but that's awesome for a new team with new bikes, from a new company in their first season.
