I know that depends front or back but on average how many miles should you get on a set of tires? The reason I ask is I'm looking at buy a used bike and the bike I'm looking at has 5500 miles and they appear to be the original tires and I want to know how many more miles they've got on them. I really don't know much about bike tires so just looking at them I'm not sure how deep the grooves should be.
Thx!

There are too many factors to estimate mileage. Person's weight, riding style, performance numbers, air pressure etc. Also, the dealer may have put the stock tires on again. Look at the wear bars, that's the easiest way.

I just got 3k out of my stock Dunlop in the rear and 4k on the front but I ride fairly aggresivly

See... I ride aggressively and I got over 6k on my PP2ct. But my riding weight is only 165 lbs

aggressive also and in all honesty i should have done my front at around 6-7.your probably going to get a 100 different awnsers from a hundred different people.

I weigh just a touch less and got 4800 out of the stock perellis on my bike, so it depends a lot.

You calling us fat dave? lol

If he isn't, I am! :p

At 10k (km's), so about 6k miles the original diablo was starting to show the shadow of the belt (rear). Front was still good for another few k's.

I got 9K miles on my rear Diablo but I only weigh 130lbs and ride mostly highway.

wow im lucky if i get 2500 miles out of a rear tire, on my s3! i put continental med-soft on my bike, i weight around 140lbs. every two rear tires i replace the front. it makes the bike handle so much better. i know its because of the way i ride!

A little over 5k and I have shiney silver strip in the center of my rear tire........I fawking hate straight roads[sad]

I just changed my first set of tires out at 7,000 but should have done it a bit earlier! (original Scorpions)

I'm a 230lb dude (Clearly all muscle), and I got 8k out of my Metzler M3's.
Most of those miles were freeways and AZ Freeways are like glass. So I'm sure that helped me.
