How to launch at a stoplight

LOL did this only I got my feet onto the pegs and managed to somehow get second gear as well only I was dusting an XR1200

lol, the first drag race I had was against a 750 at a light. I got antsy, dumped the clutch and ripped the throttle. front end went to the sky .../ I peed and pooped my pants simultaneously and beat the hell out of that 750 to the next light on one wheel!!

and I did it like this
Pin it.....dump the clutch....and try to hang on.

I thought I was going to finish my ride on my back.
and will probably never try that again LOL

too antsy and overly exited just like Nuage said

Here are the steps:

Bounce off rev limiter --> let fingers slip off clutch lever so it springs open --> win drag race

Added bonus: You could flex your arm muscles during any of those steps to assert dominance over the jap bikes

zero to sixty is what I live for or stoplight to stoplight just installed xb9 gearing on my 12 you gotta shift faster but it is wicked quick!

did the gearing myself ASB sells the kit for about 200 and it was a great mod that would not be noticed if I need warr. work done!I could not believe how much better the bike road. and 0 to 60 is feakin wild.

Thanks redrider. Now I know why my kit from ASB is on backorder. LOL. Hopefully it should be in a week or two and I can't wait. I too am addicted to the 0-60 arm ripping, stump pulling, hold on for dear life, torque!

I launch my 1125R at around 6 or 7k RPM at the track. just slowly release that clutch, if you start to come up, pull the clutch back a little bit, the front will come down quickly. just takes practice.

feathering like that works fairly well but will lead to premature clutch wear. no problem on a track bike but kina a pain for a street ride.

if you want to do that a lot I would recommend a new clutch set that can handle heat better, including a spring. after a few launches that way my clutch didn't want to bite with a full release of the lever, I think it was slipping because the spring was so hot but it could have been the plates. after it cooled down and I adjusted it again just to be sure I didn't have problems again.
