how to lower a 1125cr?

Friday I just bought a 2009 red 1125cr. I can't believe the price of these things. It had 1900 miles and looks brand new. I would like the bike to be a little lower. I am 5'9" and would like it to be at least an inch shorter. I did a search and it looks to be expensive. Looking for a reasonably priced option. Does any one make a kit to lower these bikes?
 
you could probably slip the forks, on my firebolt I slipped them about 2" and I think you could get a spring from an scg. I'm not sure how it would effect stability
 
Our 1125cr's all ready run a tight steering head angle, if you drop the front 2 inches with out dropping the rear a simelar amount, be care full it will make it twitchy as.[cool] KIWI
 
If you own a CR, you'll quickly realize the forks "can't" be dropped...!

All you can to is buy shorter sprongs for both the front AND rear.

Another thing that may help, I had my seat redone to make room...well for my nuts..!
If you look at the Buell seat design and the Japanese seat design, You'll notice a big difference. The front area of the Buell seat needs to be reworked for some male comfort.
At least as far as I'm concerned.
Not only was the rework MUCH more comfortable, it also gave the effect of lowering me... So the seating position "feels" lower. Don't really know how much in inches...but it is very noticable.

Cost me $95 to rework the foam and a new cover.
Made the seat the same thickness from the back to about 3/4 of the way yo th front. Then made a smaller radius up to the stock position under the tank cover.

WELL worth the few bucks.
Might be worth looking into.

I was thinking of using a 1125r upper triple tree or bars that mount to the forks for the front. I only need to lower an inch but I think it would look bad ass if it was even lower.
 
That is the other thing worth a mention if you lower cr it will pay to watch out for muffler to road clearance( stock system) as i have had road contact on mine two up but our combined weight was only 155kg.and thats with suspention set to suggested settings by Buell.Mind you thats on some real bumpy roads.But if a clearance issue its another exspence to consider i suppose.[cool] KIWI.
 
You can come through the top tree a decent amount when using an R top tree.

These guys have a rear shock that will drop the rear by 10mil and custom made for your weight and riding style,best i could come up with,hope this helps good luck
 
Puzzled:

What all is involved in dropping the front/rear? Oh, and can you go over speedbumps okay? :)
 
On an R

The front is done by loosening the lower and upper tripple tree pinch bolts. The tubes slide up through the tress. Measure both sides to insure they match.

With the CR it has been said the tubes will hit the bars. I don't have any first hand knowledge with the CR's.

The rear can be done with either an aftermarket or modified shock/spring assembly.

We don't have a ton of speed bumps in my area and with the ones we do have I don't have any issues with them.
