How to NOT lube a chain

i like how fast stuff like this travels and how many different forums it gets on the last one i rememeber was the guy who put NOS energy drink in his bike cause he thought it was the fuel treatment

I've shown my little girls what happens if they even THINK about going near the belt on my compressor ( with a pencil of course) They stay the hell away from my spinning ****. Saws, drills, you name it. Teach your kids people. :) Wayne

Simple rookie mistake, kind of like riding to the store without your helmet. You don't think anything bad will happen but you forget that you can't determine your future.

For added info, this guy should not have used WD40 on an o-ring chain in the first place. WD40 will ruin the o-rings between the chain and cause them you split apart which you will not notice until your chain becomes rediculously hot and expands the links until it breaks apart and whips you in the leg.

Best thing to do is take it for a 5 minute test ride and slow speed to warm the chain up and then spray the chain down with a chain wax and wipe off the excess WHILE THE TIRE IS NOT SPINNING.

VERY good point.[up][up]

The advice I gave applies to any chain driven bike. I'm sure alot of guys here own dirt bikes so in case they've never done this hopefully it will help them also. Some guys have considered switching the Buell to chain drive as well so in case they're chain rookies here they go.:)
