Hi all,
I am new to the forum and to Buells. I previously owned a 2004 Harley Sportster and wrenched extensively on that. I just purchased a 2009 xb12scg used and it has a Jardine protune 3 card installed under the seat. It appears to have died though (blinking red light on the #8 LED and bike refuses to hold idle and stalls after about 10-20 seconds, which I assume is an air/fuel issue. Also the card looks to be smashed/damaged where the left side button doesn't respond at all.) and I will be replacing my exhaust with a Jardine RT1 with EBR preprogrammed ECM. I am wondering what I need to do to disconnect the protune card off my bike so that it doesn't interfere with the EBR ECM. I have pored over the manual and have 't figured out how to get down between the frame and heads to unlatch the protune cables. Is there a easy way to access that area to remove the cables? Thanks in advance for any help you guys can render!!

David

When I initially had my Jardine installed, I had the protune 3 card installed. Basically it was really easy to remove. Just trace the cables from the card, they attach to 2 plugs. Remove the card cables and re-attach the stock plugs to their original config, and you are good to go. It is pretty self explanatory. I recall it being very easy on my 2009 XB12Ss. I did it with the bike on the side stand.

I installed the EBR ECM afterwards, you are gonna LOVE it.
