I decided to replace the output shaft bearings and seal on my '09 xb12. Can anyone tell me the best way to do this? I haven't had any luck finding a video and I'm not seeing the manuals at the top of the page. Any help is much appreciated

remove sprocket. remove spacer. remove seal.
clean spacer.
install spacer. install seal. install sprocket.

That's really what I wasn't sure of, whether the bearing is fit into the inside of the case or the outside, just behind the sprocket. I'm not prepared to split the case.

Started on the same problem myself. Trashed bearings, have to split the case. Take the first step, pull the frame off, mark everything as it comes apart and get a few pics along the way if you're not sure of what you're doing. These are the only 2 I've taken so far.

If I'm not mistaken, there are actually 3 bearings in there, not just one. There's 2 needle bearings that ride on the mainshaft of the transmission, then the larger ball bearing in the case.

Dean, you are right about the mainshaft bearings. There is the large ball bearing that is pressed in the case that supports the output shaft/main output gear. Inside the bore of the output shaft/main output gear are two needle bearings that support the mainshaft.
