How to tell if you have a race ecm

I just bought an 04 xb12r and it had a jardine can on it. Seems to pop alot when decelerating. About every three seconds or so untill I give it some gas.

So now Im thinking about tuning the ecm but I dont know if it already has the race ecm in it. Is there a way to tell?

yeah take off the front fairing and the Ecm is staring right at you. it will say something like "for race use only".

Even if it doesn't have the race ecm you can still tune the stock one...

is a tune stock ecm the same as a race ecm

Pretty much. It's just a tuned stock ECM. So with ecmspy you can tune yours to be a race ECM.

The "race" ECM is generically tuned for the factory race parts. A tuned stock ECM will out perform the race ECM in any configuration.

Cool I hope I have the non racing one. Can the racing one be tuned as well?

Yes.

All of the older ECMs are the same...the race ones come preloaded with the race map, the stock ones come with the normal map. They can both be tuned with ecmspy.
