I got offer a set of 04 headers for aprox 100$ is it a good price or should I try to get it lower? My plan is to keep my stock and get the second set to get ceramic coated.

sounds like a decent price I think a new set of headers goes for round 300$ new so....

Below are the prices for ceramic coated headers straight from Americansportbike.com (Ceramic Coated Headers). If I were you I'd buy the headers from them and ship yours the same day. I'm not sure what the turn around time is on them.

#5015 Polished Silver Coating, 2-into-1 Buell Header - Add $169.95

#5015-Black Satin Black Coating, 2-into-1 Buell Header - Add $189.95

Make sure they aren't all rashed or dented up. If they are I would say $65 shipped, otherwise $100 shipped sounds good for a set of mint pipes.

You forgot to read everything that price is for the coating only and they charge for a core fee until you ship your, I don't remember what is the core fee but I think it is over 250$

xtremelow, the good part is there is no shipping it's a guy near me that picked up a salvaged bike and I'll be able to see/inspect them before I pay for it :)

That's basically what I said man. You may just want to send yours first if you can handle the downtime.

Select Silver or Black. YOU MUST ALSO Select one of the core options IF we are to send you a finished header PRIOR to receiving your muffler, or if you want to buy a coated header outright. If you do not select a core, we won't ship your coated header unless we receive yours first.

If you just put the core charge on a credit card they should be able to refund back to the same card as long as it's done within one month so there are no service charges on that charge.

ASB is a very good business and I wouldn't doubt it if they would just hold your card number fir a certain time frame to ensure they don't get hoses before actually getting charged.

Everytime I ordered from them they waited until they shipped my order out until they billed me.

Sorry I didn't understand what you meant. I want to keep all stock part to put it back to original if I ever sell it.

He is saying send in the one you have so you can save yourself $100 instead of having two headers. But if you wish to be able to put it back to stock buy the extra. I would guess you would be able to sell a ceramic coated header in mint condition used for $200 maybe $220 so you could get some use out of it and not lose to much money if you ever decide to sell it.

After I saw this post again I found a guy local in Boise that would coat my stocks for $80. Not a bad deal so I wouldn't have to ship them.

JSG good idea to save a stock set but I don't see where you'll gain anything switching the ceramic back out for the stock even if you sell the bike unless you'd want to save the ceramics so you could buy another bike and switch them over.

I know I won't get much for a use coated one but it also avoid the down time even if it's minor time since I don't have much riding time this summer I want to be able to use every little bit of it.
