I initially started because I needed to change intake seals, so I dropped the engine and figured well hell I might as well do a few other things as well. I also found a few things while getting into this lil project. Check out the links!

Replaced intake seals with Genuine James JGI-26995-97-X

Did the breather re-route How-To: Crank Case Breather Mod (with pics) Pics are not showing up...Bummer!

Wrapped header with Lava Exhaust Wrap

Replaced the TPS with Duralast TPS213

Replaced exhaust gaskets with Standard EVO tapered crush type

Replaced spark plugs with NGK DCPR9EIX properly gapped with OEM/Standard ignition spark plug gap gauge

Built an ecm cable (that actually works) with USB to 5v TTL Header Like FTDI TTL-232R-5V and burned race maps to stock ecm followed by a TPS reset

I have on order 17362 - Heat shield, XB Rear Header

and I will be ordering A17360 - 03-10 XB Series Right Side Air Scoop

The spark plugs have never been changed (it's an 05 xb9sx) The rear plug had way more carbon deposits on the electrode, pretty bad looking.

My TPS was bad also, in checking through ecmspy at WOT the TPS was only reading 85% open. I fixed that.

Intake seals had a small leak so I replaced them also.

I notice a ton of gunk in the airbox and throttle body. Cleaned it all out and did a breather re-route.

The heat wrap, heat shield, and right side scoop is to hopefully keep the bike cooler. I live in Vegas and it was has been up to 115 deg.

Anywho, I hope these links help those who are looking for good upgrades.

Did you really need a heat shield if you are using DEI wrap?

I'd be interested to hear how the TPS unit works.

The heat shield is just added heat reduction right where my right calf is. I stay pretty tucked in when I ride. That wrap still get's hot to the touch.

BUELLS have FORD stamped on many connectors. The TPS is exactly the same as a '93 Mustang...injectors are a FORD part, the IAT is a FORD part. I think the O2 sensor is actually a CHEVY part. LOL Sorry, but I'd rather pay $35 than $90+ for the same thing.

Thank you! I also forgot to mention a K&N air filter. Amazon $37...It's been apart a couple weeks now and I am itchin to ride. Hopefully there will be a noticeable difference so tje money spent can justify it...lol

Done and Done...Sorta

I left the right side plastic off until i can put the scoop on

Got my breather pokin out under the seat and header wrapped. She is running so much better and I think she is Pretty! lol
