Colby Bradfield
Sometimes I just have to laugh and say "This would happen to me."
So I'm riding back from the Ultimate tournament in Lincoln, where I had a fantastic time, and I get into Omaha and decide to cruise through the park behind UNO coming from the Pacific Street side. While I'm turning from pacific into the park I discover that my front wheel is not getting traction and the bike slams in to the ground at about 15 or 20 mph, my head did this too. My leg softened the blow between the bike and the ground which saved my left side peg, the shifter toe broke off somehow, my blinker is gone (I left that on the street because of the traffic), and my grip is decently trashed. All of this because my brake line broke and sprayed fluid all over my front tire.
I would like to thank the the people that asked if I was okay. I gave them a little education about safety gear. The only things I really noticed wrong with my safety gear is that my boot is a little scuffed and my new helmet took a beating. There are now a few more people that will be riding in gear in Omaha thanks to seeing this incident. I would also like to thank Icon and Bilt for the gear that saved my head and foot.
Have a good weekend everyone.
I'm going to throw out a thanks to Brandon Osborne as well, since he was the one I bought the helmet from.
It still managed to be comfortable the whole time. lol
