So I made a cowling for my seat. I have to finish trimming it tomorrow my after my rotary trimmer ran out of battery so I could not fit trim it to the seat yet. Hopefully I can paint it this weekend to match the bike. Im thinking about doing something trick with my stock seat when I get enough to buy a touring seat so that will be my next project. Im getting a few blocks of closed cell foam from work next week and im going to try some different shapes for the cowling but this is the prototype. I already dont like the way the front radius sticks out past the profile of the seat so I will change that on the next one. Pics are hard to see the shape but here we go..

I build fiberglass molds for a boat company, Im a pattern builder so I do this type of stuff everyday. Its just a PITA to do this stuff at the house because I dont have half of what I need in tools or workspace. I finished all the glass work today and trimmed it Saturday I will prime and spray it.

If that cowl comes outs out well. Would you be willing to make more and potentially make some money off making them? I've been searching forever for a good cowl but one that wont break the bank. Once you make a mold it should be pretty easy to do right?

Yea, making a mold is easy, do you have a S/Scg or a Ss/TT. Mine is a Ss and the seat is different than the others size wise. Im going to run this one a month or so to figure out what I want to change.

Hey Gator, count me in on one of those. It would help finish off my xb9r with the 9s tail section.Props for taking the initiative and doing your one thing.[up]
