Bored tonight, decided I like the gold color of the Buell rims, went to my shop and mixed up a house of kustom color neon yellow, black pearl, and orange, topped it off with gold flake clear coat. I'm really happy with it and it really turned out close to the factory color except way more metallic flake. Will post updated pics this weekend when I paint the front wheel.

Did you pull the tire off the rim to paint it? Or just taped off?

I let the air out of the tire and taped it off the best I could, as you can see I got paint all over it, but it will scrap off when it dries, plus I need to get new tires, so that will be next! Thanks man

Sorry but I am not digging the ketchup and mustard look, never thought any type of red, marroon, cherry what ever looked good with yellow, gold or bright orange. Not to rag even more but in the pics the color looks like a Tonka truck yellow.

But if you like it cool, it looks different, oh and your bike looks dirty as hell so you better get to cleaning it.

well for starters, its an '03 with about 3000 miles on it. Also the red and earth color have a ton of gold in them as well so it matches quite well

yo midnight, I hear ya man, If you really want yours painted, I could walk you through it. It really is pretty easy, and even if you don't do a perfect job it really does not matter because they are not that visible, but black is very easy to paint you can do it!!!!!

How big of an air compressor do you need to rock a paint gun?

well, you can do it with a small one, I have a 15 gallon that I have done it with. However I never use considering we own a auto body shop. If yours is smaller you can do it it will just take a longer because you will have to stop but you do not need to shoot on high pressure, All you need is a scotch brite sander (by hand) two cans of self etching grey primer, and you paint and clear, remember your clear is the most important part my dad always said "lay it on like you want it to look" keep in mind if it drips your screwed, that requires wet sanding and polishing. You should not need to sand and polish wheels. Also Black is very easy to paint because it hides all your mistakes

sedars... u just scuff the shit out of the wheels!? i work at a body shop in South Dakota. was pondering the thought of paint'n my wheels... i've seen a set fully polished cost upwards of 500 for the pair but gave u a chubby...

yeah as long as you scuff the wheels and use self etching primer and sealer its fine
