went on a ride for about 3 hours saturday night, and boy does my butt hurt from my seat, got the stock low seat on my xb9s, not comfortable at all, $400 corbin seat im looking in to, anyone have any alternatives?? lol im gonna develop "assburgers" soon if i dont get a comfortable seat lol, :)

If you can find a select seat they are pretty good. When I can ride I pull 6-8hr rides and dont really feel uncomfortable till the end, but Im normally home by then anyways.....lol

I got the taller seat on my SCG and the pain is still quite a lot after an hour or so. I've been considering wearing bicycle roadbike/racer shorts underneath my pants. Apparently they have padding and the price is way better than Baldwin or corbin [up]

ok ok it would be way cheaper than an aftermarket seat...by hundreds.

I really need to look into these. This fricking Oklahoma heat is killer.

[mad]105 today [mad]

I had Baldwin seats redo my SCG seat. Gel insert and re-shape.
Made a big difference! I loved it so much i sold my Corbin and select seat.

I did a S tail swap on my Firebolt. I first had the Select seat and didnt like it. So then I went with the low saet and like you said its hard as a rock. I was looking at corbin and heard not very good things about them. So then I was looking at Baldwin but I wanted something different then everyone else. I contacted a local custom interoir shop and he cropped out the existing foam and used silicon injected foam and covered it with high end leather. Its way more comfortable then my select was and looks better.

i have an 03 xb9SL so its the stock low seat i believe its the same as the scg seat but im not sure, thanks for the info guys, either go to local shop and get my seat redone or buy butt shorts lol :D

I heat from the engine makes the seat uncomfortable on long rides also. I put this in the underside of my Uly seat:

foil tape

I think it helped a little, but it my be the placebo effect.

I paid $400.00 but like I said the materials were half the cost. You can go with a cheaper leather or some sort of synthetic and get the price down lower.

Sorry to get off subject but i wouldn't even look at my bike if it was 105 degrees out[sad]. it's a balmy 69 here in washington st. with a high of 74 later this week[cool]

And Seth, just a regular s seat will be a vast improvement over the low seat imho.

well lucky you joel!!!! ;)

yeah i figured a regular seat would work, but im kinda short so i love having the low seat maybe ill just spend the bucks for a corbin, my buddy has a corbin and it feels nice and he has no butt issues when we go cruisin usa :p

I have a XB9SL also and changed from the low to the standard seat, Better!
I'm 5'4" and can get to the ground good enough

I have a stock seat. It took around 2000 miles to break-in. Then it was comfortable enough to keep.

I've heard bicycle shorts work good. I'll have to try it.

I like Xtreme's seat the best! Do that if you can.

i am going to have my seat redone by a reahpolster shop. they are going to put in a softer foam and recover for $100

they are going to put in a softer foam and recover for $100
Please post up some pics of the seat when you get it done [up]

one of these days I'm gonna have to dig my cg seat out and have it reupholstered.
