Always up in the air, do I wanna build another chopper or buy another Buell (a CR). Well, I just bought a bunch of old bike mags for a dollar at the flea market....great article on the XB9....and low and behold they compared it to a modern day chopper. Its small and light, stripped of anything that doesn't make it go faster or stop better. I never thought of it like that. I kinda like that point of view though

really, I'd like to read the article...and what test standards, criteria, anything did they use to come to that conclusion?
did the writer actually ride the bikes? or did he fluff it up or down play it?

" its a motorcycle de minimus, a machine stripped to its essence, and in the original sense of the word- a chopper. A bike with everything removed that isn't essential."

I actually been thinking of building a chop using buell parts. Been done 100 times but its much more affordable honestly.

Shhhh! Folks here will crucify you for such blasphemy. That's why I bought my firebolt, but just can't bring myself to do it....love the bike too much---great machines

Id buy a wrecked one for the parts, I wouldnt tear a good one down for this, I like it to much!!!

I would argue this, but not worth it cause someone will get their feelings hurt over it.

And yes, it is blasphemy to use Buell parts for a chopper/bobber or whatever you want to call it. I am a die hard Buell fan and hate cruisers/choppers/bobbers or whatever you want to call them....so boring, over done concept, cookie cutter bikes. But wait, HD non original copy of a Buell...the "Livewire". end rant!

that sounds like something editor David Edwards would have penned for CW. he's gone now.....a bit too flamboyant for most tastes.

Everyones entitled to there opinions. Its not for everyone for sure. Custom is custom regardless of the parts you use. It all comes down to puting something together with your own bare hands and skill. Not to impress anyone or to appease there opinions. [up]

I rode it - believe me when I say that no one open minded to both bikes would pick the Livewire.
