I am trying to work on the tuning of my 2006 XB12S and having some major trouble or maybe it is just hesitation think I am going to wreck something.

I bought the cable, done the breather re-route, connected to ecmspy and done the TPS reset. No problems. Checked all the valve settings as described in the instructions.

Now I want to load the race MAP in hopes that my terrible decel popping will be reduced. With the cable I received a disk that contains race and stock maps. I am not sure if these are actual maps or eeproms, or even what the difference is. My computer is older and I am hesitant on loading anything without some instruction.

I am a better learner when hearing someone go through this rather than reading a ton of different posts on how it was done, which all seem to be different. I just want to get this started and go remove my chicken strips already.

If anyone is so inclined, I would appreciate a short phone conversation to get me going.

Thanks, Paul -209-202-6136

So what do you guys recommend I do? I forgot to mention that I have a Jardine CF exhaust. No K&N or any real intake mods done.

I just want this bike to sounds bad ass and not have a nasty pop making it sounds like it is out of tune.

It's a jardine, you can't expect anything but loud and obnoxious. Plus the race maps are meant for having a high flow intake as well. If you do a K&N, it might lean out your map a little leaving less pop. At that point, we'll put a race map in.

If they're .txt (Notepad/Word) files - EEPROM files.

If they're .msq (Megatune) - Map files.

If you load the Race ECM the popping will be same or worse as the Race ECM will increase fuel in the high rpm / low TPS cells. To decrease the popping you would need to taper down the cells in this region but making sure you don't go too lean. Not something a program would do but rather tuning and experience is needed.
