Went out Saturday for a ride. Wearing full leathers I thought I'd go find an empty parking lot and have a little fun!!
A few wheelies and stoppies. 30mph turns dragging a knee and then it happened. The bike went right out from under me. Not sure if my tires cooled off too much or in the constant turning I got a little dizzy and leaned too far. Speed was about 25 if that.

Any who, I'm bummed but at least it wasn't too much damage. Here da pics

I'm assuming you walked away w/o bodily injury? I hope so...

Looks like your axle sliders did their job as did your leathers! [up] Let us know if you need some replacements on the sliders. Our case sliders may have helped in this case as well...It's hard to see the extent of the case damage from the pic.

whoops! @ least u were having fun and didnt low side bcuz some d-bag old fart pulled out in front of u

Yup. Glad it happened in a lot not on the road. This is why I don't push too hard on the street.....well not too much at least.

Thanks man! Yes I walked away without any injuries. Just a sore shoulder from landing on my arm.
I was able to ride it home in second gear.

Lucky enough not to touch the case. The oil came out of my breather reroute line. I haven't checked the sliders yet but will probably need to replace at least one. Will get wit you on that. I did pull the trigger on a set of your case sliders.

cosmetic only - thats a good thing, even though replacing various farkles isn't necessarily cheap - glad you're not busted up

just wonderin' - why the safety wiring on the rear caliper? track day requirement?

50dro, have u ever given much thought to some parts more oriented to Uly's, kinda embrasing their "dual sport"ness.

Like maybe a beefy engine/muffler gaurd, or some bar ends/ bark busters that might handle acutually busting bark. I know there are other companies out there that make dual sport parts that can be fitted to a Uly with a lil work, but just wondering if u thought that nich in the market would be worth while.

(apologies for the thread jack;))

Thanks for thinking of us on this. I have put some thought to it in the past and have taken a look at some competitive products out there that were (or are) offered but unfortunately our business isn't set up to do really low production quantities and keep prices reasonable. I'm afraid that the interest in such a product would be limited and therefore we would have to sit on product for a really long time at the quantities we'd have to produce. The reality is that Uly's are a small portion of the XB Buell population (which is small in itself). As I've said in the past, I can be proven wrong and shown a market for parts like these I'd happily jump on it. Thanks again!

No. When I lost my shifter due to vibration(had loctite) on I ride I started safety wiring everything I could. I'm an aviation mechanic so I have plenty of it. Probably didn't need to wire the calliper bracket but I did want the calliper wired. Among other things,I wired the brake lines as I've heard horror stories of brake fluid putting someone down. I ride hard and close to the edge, it's also my daily driver(90 miles) The last thing I need on my mind is "did I forget to loctite something" or worry about checking torque values regularly. I just made sense for me.

[up] on the safety wire!
