I think Im leaking?!?! Help please

I have seen some risidual fluid running off the gear box, and I saw that it was coming from my foot shift, I see a little black O-ring can I just shove a new one on if I take the shifting assembly off? Thanks buellers, heres a photo.

Easy fix! I believe you can just put a new shift shaft seal in. Order it from americansportbikes.com

Red is right, I put one in my 03 when I had it. Very easy and inexpensive fix.
