IAT sensor

Can anyone think of a logical reason why an IAT would need to be mounted totally upright (like standard)? i need to mount mine about 45 degrees from upright, i dont see a problem as long as its mounted in the correct area of course! Any thoughts? Thanks chaps!

Any direction is fine. It's just a standard temp sensor.
