My buell xb12r will sometimes (especially warmed up) will idle at 2k at lights, in neutral or in gear will clutch in. I have tried alot of things but can't seem to find what's causing it.

So far I have tried:
-several tps rests
-intake seal change
-exhaust seal change
-more tps resets
-intake leak testing (can't find any leaks)

It seems to be fine upon starting from cold, then when it warms up it will start doing it. Odd thing is that if I turn the bike off and start it again, it seems to go away sometimes, even though bike is still hot. this leads me to think its electrical and not an air leak. Anything that I haven't done that might help? thanks!

How high is your idle? Its possible that there is just fuel unburnt when you slow down/ stop that causes that issue. there was a write up on here somewhere that someone posted this info, so I gave it a try. I turned my idle down about 1000 rpms and it got rid of the issue. Now dont turn it down too much, if you go too low your oil pump wont be turning enough too keep good oil flow.

Mine had this same problem until I set the idle to 1000 and also tighten up the bolts that hold the intake stack to the cylinders. This problem happened about 3 years ago when I first bought my bike ever since no problems at all. Good luck with the fix and i hope I help out some.

it happens to me all the time, most of the time i'll just put it in gear at a stop light and let the clutch out just enough to drop the RPM, hold it for a second or two and it'll go away. all I can think of is the excess fuell not burnt off.
