so whats the deal with this place honestly? is it reaaaalllllllllly that good? people tell me its just a really good damn burger but i feel like ive had some really damn good burgers in my life (wafflehouse, burger st, etc)

do they do something different? they just opened one in frisco about 15 minutes from me and may go out there soon, see what all the hype is about?

I remember visiting my brother in Anchorage soon after a Carl's JR opened and people lined up for that ****.

Fast food burgers are no bueno.

In & Out is nothing special imo. Their fries are awful.

It's a regional thing. It's like us texans with Whataburger, people from different parts of the country can get a taste of home. Just like when Krystals and Steak n Shake came to D/FW people went ape schizel , now their hype has died down .

I'm sorry, but i'm not gonna stand in a 200 yard line for a freakin burger !

ya it seems like it, just another fastfood burger joint branching out to a different state for its fanbase, if you ask me. but just another burger and milkshake...........

I wish Blakes Lot A Burger from New Mexico would come to north Texas ! They have GREAT green chilie cheeseburgers !

MmMmMmMmMm green chilie cheeseburger

It's not just another fast food burger...

It's nothing out of this world, but it is a damn good burger (I think the closest thing that compares is 5 guys, only at half the price). They focus on one thing and do it well. A big reason why I love in-n-out so much is because of their business model and how they treat their employees. They pay their employees well, give them good benefits (healthcare, education, etc.), and promote from within...it's not like most places who pay some slacker teen minimum wage. That shows when you go in, the employees are happy to work there and really put forth an effort to produce a good product.

Their fries are sliced potatoes fried in natural oil, you can even watch them slice them in the store. Most people who don't like them are used to McDonalds or some other chains fries that are a mash shaped like a french fry and chemically enhanced to taste a certain way.

Compare the calorie count on in-n-out with pretty much any other fast food burger place, the ino burgers are typically much lower than any of them. I haven't stepped foot in a McD's, BK, TB for almost 8 years now...in-n-out is really the only burger I'll eat.

Good for you Miami78 for not eating McD's etc. I haven't eaten fast food in almost 3 years now. Haven't had McD's in over 5. Just got to the point where I felt I was too old to be eating that stuff. It's fine when you're a teenager, but I started to feel like crap after eating it in my mid-20's.

I do agree that In-n-out seems to be a better place to work. seems cleaner as well.

Hardees had a good burger for fast food. I've heard good things about in n out, I'll try it when I'm on the road some time.

The In-n-out in allen and frisco opened and i was going to check them out yesterday, but decided i'll let the hype die down a couple days before i do. Good thing i did, my dad said when he drove by the frisco one, the line was 100 cars long and had a 3 1/2 hour wait! Good burgers or not, thats just rediculous.

A big reason why I love in-n-out so much is because of their business model and how they treat their employees.

I also heard that the reason it's taken so long for them to branch out across the country is two-fold:

1. They don't freeze anything. They use only the fresh ingredients they receive almost daily to offer healthier better tasting food.
2. It was a family owned business, which it still is, but the parents have passed on and it was handed down to the daughter. The parents didn't feel like they could get the right meat and produce outside of their region to justify expansion without compromising the quality of the food, but when they passed and handed it down to the daughter, she got married and from what I hear, it's the son-in-law capitalizing on the growth. He's running the show and here we are. I think they are still following the same non-frozen model.

Keep in mind, my source is the greatest sports radio station out there....The Ticket, in Dallas.

I hate California with a passion and vow to never return after being stationed there for 4 years, that being said at this point I would walk back there for a In-Out burger and two large fries! Also there is a secret menu try it animal style if your brave!! I know I am a fat kid but it is a damn good burger and damn good fries!! Check out this it will explain a little more

Yeah, I heard on the radio that people were camped out for like two days before it opened.

Im a so cal transplant, i grew up with in n out. The meat is fresh, the fries are cut from actual potatoes, etc. Five guys is doing a good job out here on the east coast. I do everything i can to avoid fast food.

What about a 4x4 animal style now thats what I'm talking about..

and animal style is just lots chile and cheese over the fries and in the burger.

In n out is alright, but I think The Habit and Five Guys are better. I grew up eating double doubles, and their business model is nice (minus the evangelical Christian part), but it's really just a good clean burger...that's it. Far superior to the big fast food chains, but not necessarily better than some of the other small-time competitors.

If I remember correctly, the father and son (or two sons) died in a plane crash a while back. Then another son died. Then the mother died. And that left the daughter. She lives just a couple cities over from me (in a big old house up in the hillside), so there's an In n Out about every 2 miles here.

The secret menu: number by number (#x#) signifies the number of patties and the number of cheese slices. A 4x4 is 4 patties, 4 slices of cheese. Protein style means wrapped in lettuce. Animal style means covered in thousand island ("special sauce") and grilled onions and cheese. The Flying Dutchman is a 2x2 without bun or veggies (just meat and cheese). You can get anything cut in half. You can order a grilled cheese which is a burger without the burger. You can order you fries any number of ways: light, well done, cheese, animal style. That's about all I can remember off the top of my head.

I feel my arteries clogging just reading about animal style ! I'll take mine with a lg Dr. Pepper please !:D
