Hi All,

My Buell XB12S has a drive belt with indiciations on it which makes me worrie a little bit.
I read in the manual that cracks in the center are not critical but when they are located at the edge it is.

I assume that the foto's are not looking good or what do you think?

Thanks for your help guys!

I understand that you have that idea because i was thinking the same thing.
Strange is that they previous owner said that he changed the belt a year before he sold it to me.
I've got the bike from last year what makes the belt only two years old (max 10k km's).
So probably the previous owner was not that honest

I would follow the instructions per the service manual. I've had a belt snap without any signs of wear and tear. Nothing much sucks more than towing that buell home. :/

To the best of my knoledge this belt has 25k on it. I would be curious how many miles were on your bike with that one. I changed this one because I thought IT was aging LOL

Where do you live... I suspect sunny, dry, arid?

My Buell has 28k km's at the moment.
I live in Belgium were there weather is rather clouded and weth than sunny and hot. 😄

If you decide not to change it, try putting linseed oil on the outside of the belt, where it's cracked. Make sure it's all absorbed or wipe off the excess, before you use it.

Thanks for the tip but i am considering to replace it by a new one.

Buy a new to have on hand and replace it when it does finally break, till then don't worry about it. I got 39k on mine and still counting.
