I just start my Inner Air-Box and Velocity Stack Elimination project.

Thanks,
:)

So far parts:

Is it save money for modifications on airbox, airbreather, right/left scoops, etc, ?
I SHALL FIND IT OUT...

:)

The velocity stack actually works very well to direct the flow of air into the throttle body. Like this

Keeps the flow of gases nice and smooth.

Also the air box base works as a heat barrier too...it has been mentioned that a completely exposed set up like the one you pictured can mess with the intake air temp readings.

The factory design is very good, but choked by the bulky air box. You might be better off trying something like this...My set up

DO NOT remove the horn, they do months of work with harmonics and pressure waves to get the perfect length of runners and size of the horn. If you take it off, your bike won't run breath as well.

I'm no mechanic, but I haven't found any supporting facts that removing the horn is a good idea. Again, I'm not a mechanic, but that seems to be one of those things I personally would leave be.

route0766, just curious, what is your goal in removing it?

Melvster is absolutely correct. Without a velocity stack is like having a smaller diameter throttle body. I made a diagram just like that a while ago.

I'm not removing the horn and the velocity stack is inside the H-D filter. The purpose is eliminate the inside and outside Air-boxes then make a low profile cover. I did not have a time to work in this project as I'm so busy at Work with my Europe project (Software Engineering).

Let me know where I can find a low profile Air-box covers, I saw some Europe guys doing that and the bikes looks awesome!!

:)

Note: I agreed with you guys regarding the air flows even and fast with the velocity stack.

has anyone tried just putting a foam filter on the horn and not use a filter inside? could be easier to delete plastic bracket then just make a simple heat barrier blanket. you can buy some from shops online for 25bux.
