When installing a Jardine Exhaust on to my 2006 Buell XB12SS, what do I need to do with the AFV? Remove the cable and just leave it or do I need to add a dummy plug to communicate with the ECM?

Welcome! I see two different questions, correct?

AFV: you can leave it as-is. No need to set to 100% as it will just change anyway when needed.

Exhaust valve actuator: you can leave it plugged in under the airbox cover, -or- disable the AMC Enable bit in the ECM. To do that, you will need a data link cable and one of these software programs:
- Tunerpro: Open the flag "Active Muffler Control Configuration: Enable AMC feature" and clear/uncheck the "Set" check box
- ECMSpy for Mono: Uncheck the setting "Enable exhaust valve" in the System -> Exhaust Valve tab

They do make "emulator" plugs for the AMC actuator, but getting a data link cable or bluetooth moduel is a much better investment and will allow you to do some service items yourself such as a TPS reset.

If you need links to these programs or to purchase a data link cable, please see my profile page. I sell very high quality cables and they come with an extensive User's Guide.

The cable for the exhaust valve actuator has been removed. I think I might disable it when I get home tonight.

Can the Turner Pro RT re-flash a Race ECM?
These numbers are found on the ECM: "32621-03y 08095" "BX1PA21GB231"

I tried to do it last night and the fan started and would not shut off. I do not know what I did to end up shutting of the fan but it I loaded what I thought was the right Bin to the ECM and it stopped. After a few tries. The bike will not currently start.

If you would like I can go more into what I did on this post or I can create another post to talk about the issues I am having.

I haven't updated that particular race ECM, but I have modified an XB9 factory race ECM (BUECB) with Tunerpro RT and had no issues.

Which XDF did you select (ex: BUEGB_V5.xdf), and what values were you changing? What was the procedure? Ex: Did you download the current settings, modify, and then upload to the ECM? Or did you modify a saved copy and upload to the ECM?

When I tried to down load the current ECM data I received a message saying that the items off didn't match and asked if I wanted to download it manually. When I did it seemed to have saved an empty bin. What I think I downloaded form the ECM was BUEGB231-04-02-03.

I tried two XDF files B2RIB_5, and BEUGB_5, both yielded same results.

Right now I am trying to copy the B2RIB_5 to a new BUEGB231 to see if it will re-flash that way. I read some where that I can only re-flash a race ecm with one that has the same firmware.

I think the BUEGB and B2RIB calibrations are different.

You have 1,198 bytes for the BUEGB versus 1,206 for the B2RIB.
And I believe B2RIB has several Active Intake parameters and a Baro Pressure Blip setting, whereas the BUEGB does not.

I loaded the BUEGB and the bike runs. I adjusted the throttle and it is idling around 1000-1100. If i give it slow throttle it will climb. If I hit the throttle hard it cuts out and then drops down to idle. If I leave the throttle wide open it just bounces from idle to a little throttle. Any Thoughts? Sorry if this post is quick, My wife is hurrying me to go some where. LOL
