were you my competition?

Lol I was the one that bid in the last minute! What was your max bid? I didnt go higher because surdyke has them for $196.

Sorry for ruining your deal, I thought I was going to win I wasnt trying to bid you up. [up]

Like you I had header wrap, but it saved my pipes from being dented because where the pipes join it was double wrapped. My header is bent though, the back mount for the rss is digging into the wrap, and I had to coax my header into the muffler opening.

09 lightning
1- remove seat
2- remove chin faring
3- remove muffler
4- remove left bolt on dog bone support on regulator bracket
5- remove rss, remove bolts for lss let scoop hang
6- remove bolts for v/regulator bracket
7- remove header bolts
8- unplug o2 connector by reaching through hole under seat
9- using 7/8 crows foot remove o2 sensor
10- pull header flange away from studs, pull out on front header tube and rotate front tube counterclockwise so it faces straight up and remove header.
if you dont have a crows foot
lift rear of bike and place blocks under rear muffler mount.
11- remove rear shock and lay next to battery
12- remove fan grill and fan bolts
13- slide fan down approx 4 inches no need to unplug fan
14- using o2 socket remove o2 sensor and perform step 10

sorry no pictures the first 10 steps takes about 30 mins all 14 may be 50

its all good! harley quoted me at 230 total, not installation, so like a week ago I decided i needed new ones before my current ones crack. The road grinded almost all the way through.

so I saw them on ebay and said well ill put on 220 for a max bid, I got them for like 212 or something, so I got them a little cheaper then what harley wanted.

that doesnt sound good. I am debating to put wrap back on or not, because they are brand new.

alright so ive been tackling this project a little everyday, and got sidetracked with the car.

i have the exhaust off. Now I know in the video he has the bike up on straps, but can anyone think of a way to get the rear shock out without raising the bike with straps? I have nothing in my ceiling to connect straps to that I trust with the weight....

My only other option is well... a tree

oh9 used titanium i think and it looks pretty good if your into the wrapped look.

+ 1 rep to you.

I ordered my new header, it is scheduled to ship on the 5th, I am going to have it ceramic coated while I am at it.

lol not this thread

jackstands under the rider pegs or a block of wood under the rear muffler bracket.

yea I thought about it and even tho I got black wrap, i want to put another coat of paint on them so they dont wear, so Im thinking put it on first paint it, then install the headers. Thats the smartest way to do it so I dont have to mask off my bike to paint them.

^^ That looks a little OCD to me... I mean come on! The handles and legs all parallel and everything... LOL!! Ok, ok--I'm a little jealous. My workspace NEVER looks that clean when I'm doing something major to my bike... :p
