i'm going to isntall a new jardine exhaust on my 06 XB12S. what should be done with the servo and cable?
any ideas?

i can't get a race ECU or emulator right now. it would have to wait until i get more funds.
is there anything i can do for now? what do i do with the cable? servo?
thanks

What about on an 08S I think (i'll have to check when I get to my bike) it was one of the june 07 production '08's do i need a diff ECU or does it have the one that re-learns itself? I'm going to do a DIY exhaust but just until I can afford to buy the CF jardine.

Just remove the cable and leave the servo in place and plugged in. I removed mine for awhile but couldnt stand worrying about the bike throwing a check engine code and never knowing it, so I plugged it back in.

remove or tie off the cable... or you can disable the servo in ecm spy and remove it completely.

I used ecm spy with my jardine. disabled the servo, removed it and first burned the race map into my ecm. it ran better than stock, but still a little lean. after that i burned a custom map into the ecm and it has never run as good as it does today. the fan hardly ever comes on (besides when you shut it off) and the heat is minimal on my legs and seat.

You don't need a race ecm and a servoi emulator.

A race ecm will tell the system that the servo has been eliminated!

I rode mie for about 6 months before I was able to upgrade to a race ecm. No problems for me. Just have to deal with the check engine light coming on until you get the ecm.

If you going to do the air box delete and high flow air filter and an exhaust, you need the race ecm. It's night and day with the race ecm!

like i said. don't spend the money on the race ecm. just convert your existing ecm to a race ecm with ecm spy.
