I just bought an 03 XB9R a few days ago, and I came across a light that comes on when I first pop in the key and hold down the clutch, and goes away after a few seconds. Its a V-shaped red light between the Neutral and oil lights. Could someone tell me what it means?

This is my first Buell I've owned, so its completely new to me. I tried looking online for an owners manual, but couldn't find one, so I thought I'd just ask here. Sorry if its a newbie question, but the lights really been bugging me.

That light is the fuel pump priming the injectors and the ECM cycling.. its completely normal. The jury is still out as to whether its ok to start the bike while the light is still lit..

thats the CEL aka Check Engine Light it comes on to show you that the bulb works if it comes on for any other reason then I'd get worried but as long as it's only when ya turn the key to start then goes out your fine
