I have an xb12 right now I really like the CR and with prices low on new ones I'm thinking about selling the xb for a cr... My question is does the insurance rates differ much from cr and xb?

I doubt it will be much, but the big factors will be your driving record, insurance company, and the years between the bikes.

my '03 bike is $21 a month for PLPD, $39 for Full Coverage, a '09 would be $36 PLPD and $63 for Full Coverage. I am 26yrs old and have no tickets.

So it is about 70% more for coverage, atleast through my insuance it is.

The ratechange depends more on the year difference. I have both a 06 xb12ss and a 09 CR right now they are both in 'storage' and the rates are both about the same (even through 2 different carriers)

I am paying 170 every 3 months for full coverage 23 years old 1 speeding ticket with an xb12 04... quoted an 02 r6 before I bought the buell from an another company 1600 every 6 months...

go to progressive.com and fill in the info for both bikes... Mine was an extreme difference in price from an XBscg to an 1125CR

Mine too. I'm 23 and have a clean driving record and excellent credit. Still, the difference between maxed out coverage (it's what my umbrella policy requires) on my Ss and a CR was HUGE. Big enough that I didn't even consider buying one.

[sad] well looks like I will have to wait and buy one down the road after the new wears off... Until then I will just have to keep setting car alarms off, and pissing people off wo ride with their windows down using the good ole xb+jardine combo.[cool]

I priced it when I was looking to get a CR. I pay $100 a month on a 9 payment system for my 07 XB12R, my payments would have went up $20 each for a CR.

that's not to bad Dave...
Mine is $360 for the full year full coverage for an 07 XB12Scg when I checked on the CR it was $2500.00 a year!!! WTF?[confused]
I'm 30 and married with a clean driving record[up]

Shop around:

I'm 24, clean record, single. My '03 XB9R Firebolt was $450/yr full coverage. My '09 CR is only $160 more a year (sold the XB) WITHOUT collision. I figure if I hit something, it's MY own dumb fault and I'll pay for it out of pocket. WITH collision I couldn't find anything for under $1,400/yr [mad]

I have an xb12r. I'm 19, clean driving record, and I also got my motorcycle license through a motorcycle safety foundation. I still pay $130 a month for full coverage. I guess it's not that bad, but on top of my loan payments it kinda sucks.

I use Viking Insurance. 1100 a year full coverage, got it thru Harley when I bought the bike. I'm 22 and have 1 point on my record for the moment. 08 xb12

30, married, no tickets...Progressive quoted me $277/year for full coverage on my '07 stt.

Well I just checked going from 2004 xb9sx to a 2009 1125r 100/month more now I have to decide pay off 2k on my2004 and fin the 7k or buy the 1125 cash n put pl pd on it
