Intake seals & flanges

These parts are the latest parts listed with Harley, that is what I was told at Blackgold H-D.

2 New Intake Flanges p/n 27327-07A $11 each
2 Sets of Seals/Gaskets p/n 26995-86B $3 each gasket

Seems from all the other threads, like we need another one, this is the easiest way to go?

There are much many lots of opinions:/ If it seals the first time, thats the one you should go with
Personally I like and use the OE using OE procedures without sealant or issues. YMMV.

Doesn't get any "easier" than a 45 minute job minus ultrasonic cleaning the TB and injectors.

I made a thread about it and explained the couple fiddly bits. Worth the very small investment in some basic tools (if you don't already have them), to save the whole rotate IMO. Hope it helps!

I have removed the throttle body. Noticed the flange bolts, all 4 of them, felt like they were torqued to 100ft lbs. The Buell manual says these should be between 96 - 120 in lbs, which is about 8-10 ft lbs. Definitely a lot tighter than they should have been. Have already ordered new set of flanges, as the old ones are no longer flat and rock while lying on a flat granite surface. The threads in the heads and on the bolts look good and I did not see any metal or material coming out. Will see if I can order some new flange bolts? Just called and Harley says they have 8 of them in Stock.

Seems a bit over zealous to me. If they thread in and out ok, I'd run 'em.
