Hey Buell'ers,

Ran across a rather insightful interview with Mr. Buell that www.thekneeslider.com conducted around the time the 1125 bikes were first introduced. They hit on some pretty interesting topics including:

- The interplay/dynamic between Harley and Buell
- The possible development V-Rod power-plant for Buell use
- 1125 Rotax Engine Development
- Buell's Dirt Bike project
- Buell-Only Dealerships vs. Buell Bikes in Harley Dealerships

Etc… Check it out:

This interview definitely reinforces the notion that BMC was light-years beyond Harley in terms of forward thinking innovation, rider-centric design, and independent thought/engineering creativity. Furthermore, with the 1125's, a little American company was (finally) able to compete with (and Best) the major factories of Japan and Italy. These are just a few of the reasons that I think Harley's closing-of-the-doors in East Troy is so very tragic. (Not to mention so very stupid!)

Please let me be the first in line to shove a shiny, chromed-out, over-priced, over-weight, authentic Scream'n Eagle, size 11 boot square-up Willie G.'s...

Interesting how the 1125 production started on October 15...Little did they know that 2 years later they would cease ALL Buell production...

Good article! Thanks for sharing!

Nice Thread Rodie! Here's some Vids of a Tour Erik gave through his own garages. Talks about struggles, innovations, etc.
