Anyone put the 07 inner airbox cover on an 05 or later xb12.
Says you get better performance. I've puuled the snorkle out so getting more air in but the 05 doesn't have that front mesh above the fuel cap.
Seen the ideas about putting holes in the airbox i have but not sure which way to go.
Thanks for any info.

Sorry if i sound dumb but looking at that site did buellpartsguy say then it would be better as i am running the drummer.
Cheers

Anytime you have a stock or aftermarket exhaust, the more air you can get in your engine, the better. BPS is saying, if you're using an aftermarket exhaust, then it won't need the exhaust servo mount on the airbox. Because of this ,you'd be even better just to do a complete inner airbox delete kit since you won't need the servo mount on the '07 inner airbox.

Basically,

'07 inner airbox + Stock Exhaust = Better than Stock

Inner airbox delete kit + Drummer = Even Better

....Hope that makes sense;)

Hi,

Just fitted the 07 inner box to my 2005 12R. Unfortunately, I fitted it alongside doing the breather pipe mod so can't say specifically how much diference the airbox made in isolation.

The difference to the bike with the two mods is huge. Low speed running is transformed and the bike pulls like a train all the way to the rev limiter. I have an aftermarket exhaust but still have the servo in place (without cable)to avoid error codes. The 2007 airbox gives a neater way of fitting this with bolt locations rather than the two bits of foam.

Incidentaly, someone (I can't remember who) on UKBEG who raced a XB12 before going over to the 1125R found that they could get better performance with an air box fitted than they could with the delete!?

For the price, I think swapping the airbox for the 2007 model is well worth doing!

Hope this helps.

Look at the 2007 box, are these holes strategically place and size or how about using one of those triangular drill bits (not a DIY person) to copy the hole placements.
Will there be any kind of power loss in any of the ranges?
Thanks again for the help.
